15/11/2009 3 Comments Harvest timeCooler and wetter weather has finally arrived and with it the olive harvest. The amounts are small, but such is the life of farming. Although most years we would be in the early stages of picking, we are nearly through. Thanks to all who came to help out. There's nothing like working and eating together in the great fall weather. It happens so seldom at Gezer these days.
We had a freak rainstorm 2 weeks ago while picking. It just came down in buckets, with no time to run for cover. This year we again took most of the olives to the press at the Trappist monastery at Latrun. I'll write about that soon.
